Library books have certain features to identify them as property of the University Library.
Barcodes – stickers with bar symbols of varying widths. These can be read by barcode readers for easy identification of the book in our iLib system.
Security machines – uses RFID (radio frequency identification) to detect if the book has been cleared properly in the iLib before it leaves the building. The security machine would beep and light up if the book is not yet cleared.
