Digitization is the process of converting data to digital format for processing by a computer (ref: ODLIS). In the Main Library we have a Digitization Services section which takes care of converting our analog collections into digital format.
Examples of materials digitized:
- Rare books
- Backup of UP publications
- Master’s thesis titles from the University Archives
- VHS tapes and DVD compact discs (transferring into MP4 file format)
The Digitization Services section also offers scanning of Filipiniana materials. Users can photocopy a limited number of pages from Filipiniana books for PhP 1 / page, subject to library and copyright policy.
