Hello and Welcome to Learning is Easy @ Your Library.
Mabuhay! This video will show you How to Access and Download Online Articles.
This video is brought to you by your friendly Reference Librarians at the Information Services and
Instruction Section, UP Diliman University Library.
You must learn how to do this online because it is not possible to avail of in-person library services.
Libraries are closed due to the COVID-19 quarantine. The Main Library is also off-limits to give way to the heavy construction work of the Gonzalez Hall renovation.
Access Online Articles via EDS
On the landing page, you will see the Saliktroniko search bar. You may search for the subscribed e-resources under the Databases tab and online journals under the Journals tab.
Access Online Articles via Subscribed E-Resources on the homepage
The electronic databases can be found via the Subscribed E-Resources graphic on the homepage.
The databases are group according to discipline. First up is the Filipiniana databases, then next are the international databases which are categorized by academic cluster like engineering, social sciences, etc.
Consult with your college librarian to find out which of these databases are most useful in your discipline.
Whenever possible you should go for online articles which have these two characteristics: peer reviewed, and with full text available.
Peer review ensures that the online article has been evaluated by experts in the respective field.
By downloading the full text, you can read the whole text of the study instead of just the summary in the abstract. It is also a good habit to keep your own copy since you may forget where to access the article again on the internet.
