UPLift 2023: Elevating Online Resources of the University Library for Specific Research

Overview

The Information Services and Instruction Section of the University Library is organizing a webinar session to introduce its lineup of new and current online resource subscriptions to discuss timely and relevant topics with the intention to address the information needs of the academic community as we begin the second semester. Each online database shall be introduced and discussed by experts. There will also be demonstrations of these new resources to familiarize clients with each separate interface further and show research best practices. The focal point of each presentation would enable students and faculty to apply a specific type of research or approach in their respective discipline or industry through the use of the  resources provided. An open forum to accommodate questions and concerns regarding the use of these resources shall immediately follow throughout the program.

General Objectives

This webinar aims to (1) walk faculty members and students through the library’s various new and current online information sources and how to access them remotely; (2) showcase the strengths and advantages of each online resource;  and (3) provide a venue for participants to ask questions and get hands-on experience in navigating new online resources.

Learning Objectives

At the end of this webinar, faculty members and students will be able to (1) demonstrate how to access, use and navigate online resources/tools; (2) maximize the use of our online resources for teaching and learning; and (3) guide faculty members and students on the proper use of resources for  their specific research and academic needs.
